What the Rural Development is
An account for agriculture and stockbreeding subsidies, which you can use for all interbank subsidies, according to the CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) rural development framework and the decisions of the European Commission and the Ministry of Rural Development and Food.
Required steps
Visit a Bank of Chania branch
Collect your account form (with IBAN number) or photocopy of your savings account
Visit your local Union of Agricultural Cooperatives or the respective OPEKEPE (national agricultural administration) cooperative

Floating interest rate, according to the interest rates set by the European Central Bank
Possibility to prepay OPEKEPE subsidy at 80%, with a floating interest rate, according to the Bank’s lending rates catalogue
In order to open an account at the Cooperative Bank of Chania, you will need the following documents:
ID or Passport
Recent income tax statement
A bill from a Public Utility Organization or any other document certifying your address
Certificate of employment in case you are employed
A current phone bill confirming your phone number
